We feel a huge burden to help the poor around the world by ending poverty and stopping the spread of AIDS. We have partenered with World Vision to help change childrens lives!

 

There are 6 billion people in the world:

-26,575 children under the age of 5 die every day from preventable causes.

-Over 800 million people do not get enough to eat.

-Every 5 Seconds a child dies of hunger.

-Every 15 seconds a child dies from water born illnesses.

-1 in 6 people worldwide do not have access to healthcare.

-1/4 of adults in the developing world cannot read or write.

-2 billion people live on less than $1 a day - 3 billion people live on less than $2 a day. 600 million people can only spend $0.50 a day. In India this corresponds to: $1 = 40 rupees; one decent roadside meal = 15 rupees per person so $1=family of 3=one meal per day.

-5-5.5 million people only get 1 meal a day or every other day

 

How can you help:

By sponsoring a child for $30 a month ($35 a month for children in severely AIDS affected countries in Africa) you provide that child with an education. clothes and school supplies, you provide the child and their family with nutritious food and clean drinking water, you provide the village with clean drinking water, agricultural training and supplies(tools, fish ponds, animals to raise and sell, fruit trees and vegetable seeds etc) and business loans and training. The goal of World Visions Child Sponsorship Program is to make a village self-sustaining. This takes an average of 12-15 years.

 

What we at Elisabeth Joy Photography are doing:

we as a couple are Child Ambassadors with World Vision. We also are in the process of sponsoring a child through the business and part of each wedding, portrait sitting and theatre session we will be sponsoring that child.
